LVSC

LVSC's Policy Department provides a coordinated voice on London issues

LVSC encourages London’s voluntary organisations to work together so that they can share best practice, combine their resources and, most importantly, make their full contribution to the running of London.

Raising awareness

LVSC monitors the policies of national and local government and other agencies, and keeps the voluntary sector informed of any changes through briefings, articles in Voluntary Voice, networking, special seminars and conferences.

At present our priorities are
Community care & health
London government
Regeneration
Sustainable development
Social exclusion

Networking

LVSC organises conferences, convenes forums, and consults and collaborates with other organisations on a range of important issues.

LVSC also sets up and supports pan-London networks of voluntary organisations, such as London CVS, the London Regeneration Network, the Voluntary Sector Forum, Community Care Development Officers Forum, and others.

Partnerships

At local level, LVSC works with other umbrella groups to organise borough-based advice surgeries, networking opportunities and training courses. At London wide level, we are active members of the London Development Partnership and other partnerships in which the voluntary sector links up with local government, business and other interests.

Working for change

LSVC influences the development of policies that affect London’s voluntary sector, and the people we serve, through research and lobbying. We offer a channel for other voluntary and community groups to contribute their views.
