To operate effectively in London, voluntary organisations need easy access to support services.

Advice

LVSC provides specialist advice on many aspects of running a voluntary organisation, including recruitment, personnel practice, fundraising, producing publications, running an information service and more.

Information

LVSC’s telephone information service answers public enquiries about voluntary action and its context. Enquirers can also visit our well-equipped reference library, which is open from 12 noon to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (no appointment needed). (Open from 10am to 5pm from autumn 1999 – ring to check.)

Voluntary Voice, a ten-times-a-year magazine for London’s voluntary sector, offers up-to-date news, informed comment, review pages and full-length features of practical interest.

Books

LVSC publishes practical manuals on running voluntary organisations. Two of our titles – Just about managing? Effective management for voluntary organisations and Voluntary but not amateur: a guide to the law for voluntary organisations – have gone through several editions and become classics.

Training

LVSC provides high-quality, low-cost training on the many subjects that voluntary organisations need, full details are given in our quarterly training brochure. We can also deliver custom-made courses specifically for your organisation.
